When it was announced that those who don’t comply with the MCO will face jail time or a RM1,000 fine, many started taking the order seriously by actively trying to limit going out of the house as much as possible. Sadly, there were still a few who needed an ‘extra push’ to understand the consequences of their actions.
Recently, a few PDRM officers got creative with their methods of enforcing the order when they rounded up a group of immigrant workers who were caught walking together in public for no justifiable excuse. In a video posted by Media Netizen, one officer could be seen instructing the group to stand in a line and do squats while pulling their ears as another officer took pictures and recorded the humiliating fiasco to show the world the kind of public embarrassment they’d be subjected to if they weren’t going to listen to the rules.
While the location of the scene was not disclosed, netizens believe that the humiliating incident occurred somewhere within the Kuala Lumpur region. Many netizens were amused by the creativity of the officers who took a page from your typical guru disiplin’s book at punishing these rule-breakers.
Perhaps some modern problems require old school solutions instead. What do you guys think of this?
