Driving without a license is a serious offense in Malaysia – with those found guilty of the offense may face a fine up to RM1000 or a year in jail, or both!
Understanding that it is a serious offense, one would think that they’d be a bit more careful the next time they leave their homes without carrying proper documentation.
Not exactly.
In one video that went viral on social media, a couple took offense when a police officer pulled them over for a traffic offense that they were allegedly committing.
When the driver failed to produce the proper documents when asked, that is when the trouble began.

At the beginning of the argument the female co-driver, probably the wife of the driver, states that the driver could not produce the license as he left it at home.
Sensing trouble, she insisted that the police follow them back home so that they can give the license for the police to issue the summon!
Like, is she for real?
The driver even got out of the vehicle, insisting that the police issue the summons anyway by giving his identification card.
The female co-driver even had the cheek to say that the policeman was harassing them, recording him and claimed that all he wanted was a bribe!
Disgusted by the action of both the “victims”, netizens retaliated in defense of the policeman.

“Hey, when you are driving you need to have your driver’s license with you. The same law applies to all.”
Other netizens commended the policeman for not losing his cool despite the slander he had to endure at the hands of these people.
When you’re wrong, you’re wrong.
We understand that nobody likes to pay summonses, but trying to weasel your way by hurling obscenities and obstructing police from doing their duty may not be the way to go, right?
