Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim has gone on record to state that he and his fellow officers are retiring as it was part of police procedure, according to The Sun Daily. He said,

“We are retiring, not resigning. When our time is up, we have to leave the force.”

The others scheduled to leave the force are Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd, and Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh.

Noor Rashid added that his initial retirement age was last year, but his service period was prolonged until March this year. The mandatory retirement age for civil servants in Malaysia is 60 years.

Hopefully, this puts those pesky rumours to rest, and allows our esteemed police officers here to retire peacefully! We wish them a happy, blissful retirement.
