As we all know, parliament was dissolved on October 10 and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has voiced his disappointment over the political situation in the nation.

In response to that, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has since issued a statement talking about how he had to dissolve the government to “put a stop to the voices who questioned the legitimacy of the government by returning the mandate to the people.”

He added that the unreasonable action of the 12 ministers who sent a letter to the YDPA fueled his decision.

“This dissolution is to stop disharmony from appearing in the Federal government.”

Elaborating on the 12 ministers, he mentioned that their actions undermined the office of the prime minister, where the appointment was consented by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“Recently, there were also those in the cabinet who openly critiqued the decisions of the government. Tan Sri Muhyiddin’s act of declaring BN as the main enemy of PN has caused discord, even though his party is part of the government,” he said.

“Muhyiddin as the chairman of the National Recovery Council had asked for the parliament to be dissolved as he claims that the government had failed in managing the country and economy.”

The statement ended with a phrase saying that a government can only function well when everyone is cooperative.

“The country needs a stable government to get through future challenges.”

Well, this all seems very messy. What is your take on this?
