Restrictions have been ramping up dramatically amidst the growing coronavirus outbreak, but there are still some out there who fail to get the memo!
Videos of Malaysians lazing around at restaurants, which were not supposed to allow patrons to dine-in, Malaysians taking evening strolls in parks, Malaysians making their way back to their hometowns or Malaysians simply being ignorant in light of COVID-19 is aplenty on social media.
And this one man is no exception.
Shared on Twitter, one man thought that he is above the law and began shooting a video of himself and a large group of people enjoying a feast in Langgar, Kedah.
“Quarantine kepala bapak dia quarantine (Your father’s head la quarantine)” were the words mentioned by the man shooting the video.
Clearly not caring very much about the restriction order in place, this group of individuals were going about their business as usual when it came to enjoying the food prepared at the feast.
The ignorance, however, did not go unnoticed by the authorities, as police nabbed the individual in the video shortly after that.
Reported in Harian Metro, the police detained a 49-year-old and 60-year-old man to help investigations of a kenduri kepala kambing that was organized in a village at Langgar, Alor Setar.
According to Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rozi Jidin, the 49-year-old was detained for recording the video and the 60-year-old was detained for organizing the event.
“Both were residences of Langgar and were detained at their respective homes for investigation.”
“This is the first arrest of such a case and it should serve as a lesson to the public not to deny the important role authorities play in stopping the spread of COVID-19.”
It is understood that the video was taken on the FIRST day of the Movement Control Order, around 12 noon with 30 guests attending the event.
Such ignorance! Let’s hope that as responsible Malaysians, we continue to do our part and report incidences like this!
