Police are currently on the search for a man who went viral after jumping across train tracks at the Bukit Bintang monorail station on September 24 at 11.35pm.
Kuala Lumpur police released a statement explaining that the widely shared 4-second video on social media captures a man jumping from platform to platform.
The suspect has yet to be identified
Prasarana Malaysia Bhd’s auxiliary police reported the incident at 9:34 PM yesterday. The officers tried to find the man right after it happened, but they couldn’t track him down.
According to Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, the suspect, still unidentified, was caught on video wearing a sling bag, jumping from one platform to another and slipping through an open platform screen door.
“The auxiliary police have been actively trying to track down the suspect to catch the intruder, but so far, their efforts haven’t worked out. The trespassing incident was carried out by a man whose identity is still unknown.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police
An investigation is being conducted under Section 447 of the Penal Code (trespassing).
The police are encouraging anyone with information regarding the incident to step forward and reach out by calling IPD Dang Wangi at 03-26002222, the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-21159999, or any nearby police station.
