Joining the New Year’s Countdown has got to be one of the most awesome way to start off 2018 because our adrenaline is just through the roof when the clock strikes 12! However, getting home after that can be a problem for those who rely on public transport.

But don’t fret! Rapid KL has decided to extend the operating hours of public transport on 31 December so that we don’t have be stranded on the streets on the first day of 2018.
Based on Rapid KL’s Facebook page, a few selected key stations on each line will be extending their operating hours. Up to 1am or 2am too!
LRT Ampang Line and LRT Sri Petaling Line
- Masjid Jamek – 2am
- Bandaraya – 2am
LRT Kelana Jaya Line
- KLCC – 2am
- Masjid Jamek – 2am
- Pasar Seni – 1am
- Ampang Park -1am
- USJ7 – 1am
KL Monorail Line
- Bukit Bintang – 1am
MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line
- Bukit Bintang – 1am
- Mutiara Damansara – 1am
- Pasar Seni – 1am
BRT Sunway Line
- Sunway Lagoon – 2am
- Sunway-Setia Jaya – 2am
- Mentari – 1am
- SunMed – 1am
- SunU-Monash – 1am
- South Quay-USJ 1 – 1am
- USJ 7 – 1am
Other stations that were not mentioned above will stick to their usual hours, but not to worry as you will still be able to exit them up till 2am.

Besides the trains extending their operating hours, you can rest assured that the Rapid KL bus services on these routes will be extending its hours to 2am too!
