As it cuts through the beautiful Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor, you can bet that the drive will offer a picturesque view of the majestic nature when you cruise down the road. While this bypass has certainly made lives easier for the Rawang peeps going into Kuala Lumpur, some people have been abusing the road for other purposes since it officially opened on November 29.

According to Oriental Daily, apparently motorists have been taking selfies in the elevated section of the highway ever since it opened and that is not cool, guys. We get it, this is the selfie era but take note that the Rawang bypass is a working highway and there are motorists using it so it can get dangerous!

Guess they didn’t know that the Rawang bypass would become such a tourist attraction because there is no place for you to stop along the road except for the emergency lane. This is where all the people who want to take photos will stop and that’s not what an emergency lane is used for. No, selfies are not classified as an emergency.

These sudden stops on the Rawang bypass has caused other motorists to be inconvenienced because they have to slow down and be extra cautious to avoid accidents from happening. In fact, Jabatan Kerja Raya Gombak has issued a warning saying that motorists are forbidden to stop at the Rawang bypass.

Remember, everyone! The bypass is meant to be a highway for motorists’ convenience and not a space to take photos, okay?
