Today (29th June), the Defence Minister held a press conference in Putrajaya to address a few updates made regarding the RMCO. As there were quite a few important points that were mentioned, we made sure to get all the important points down just in case you missed it.

 

1. Students, Civil Servants & Disabled Persons Don’t Have To Pay For Covid-19 Tests

While returning Malaysians will be expected to pay RM30 – RM150 for Covid-19 tests starting today, students, civil servants and disabled persons will be exempted from having to pay this fee upon their return to the country. However, the decision was only made earlier today “so those who have already paid for their Covid-19 tests will have their money reimbursed by the Health Ministry,” added the Ismail Sabri.

 

2. Body temperature checks are only needed at building entrances instead of at every shop

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri also announced that the mandatory body temperature checks only need to be conducted at the building entrances of malls instead of at every shop. However, each customer is still required to register manually or on the MySejahtera app to enable contact tracing.

 

3. Theme parks and Water parks are allowed to resume operations starting 1st July

Theme parks and water parks will be allowed to resume operations starting next month. This will involve the re-opening of 54 theme parks in the country and 10,000 staff. Theme park operators will have to obey the SOPs specified, including ensuring social distancing at all times. These operators are also subjected to following public swimming pool and water quality guidelines which can be found on MKN and MOTAC’s website.

 

4. Not more than 250 people will be allowed to attend wedding ceremony feasts

The number of guests allowed to attend wedding ceremony feasts cannot exceed 250 people, including ceremonies held in mosques, halls and houses. However, this size limit is subjected to the capacity of the event space and all guests need to follow the guided SOPs by authorities.
