Finally, some justice is being served!

Earlier this week, Malaysians were scrambling to buy tickets to Ed Sheeran’s highly anticipated concert in KL. Tickets were sold out within 30 minutes, and it was later found out that many of the tickets were being resold at absurd prices.

Whether you’re a fan or not, you can certainly imagine the frustration a fan has to go through.

Some of the tickets were even being resold for as much as RM8,000!

However, it seems that these resellers will be getting their just desserts very soon.

According to The Star, PR Worldwide, the organisers of Ed Sheeran’s concert in Malaysia, stated that resold tickets will be invalidated.

PR Worldwide director, Anita Baskaran stated,

“We have investigated every transaction and found some suspicious ones. These suspicious transactions will go into a blacklist. If we find that those tickets have been put up for resale, then the barcode will be disabled.”

“However, we will investigate thoroughly before we make a decision to disable or enable a barcode.”

As for now, a few resellers have been identified and action will soon be taken against them as well as against those who bought tickets from them.

MyTicket.Asia, the website that was selling the official tickets to Ed Sheeran’s concert, posted a notice on their homepage, stating that they came across people purchasing more than 4 tickets at a time by performing multiple transactions with the same credit card.

They have also stated that these tickets will be invalidated and will even be re-allocated to “the true fans and supporters of Ed Sheeran.”

Woah, what?!

This sounds like potential good news for fans who didn’t get a chance to buy tickets in time!

Fans who got their share of tickets bought by these scalpers expressed their frustration of not being able to see their idol perform. What’s worse, these scalpers are only trying to capitalise on the fans’ desperation!

We certainly hope all tickets from the scalpers will be voided. Let’s keep our eyes peeled for their next update!
