A two-month-old baby in Kuching, Sarawak suffers from a heart condition and is need of surgery in Kuala Lumpur.
The baby who has a heart malformation called ‘Taussig-Bing syndrome’ since birth has already undergone treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital, but still needs to undergo surgery at the National Heart Institute (IJN) which is located in Kuala Lumpur.
However, because of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) still in place, the baby’s family and the hospital found it difficult to get any flights to West Malaysia.
Thankfully, the Royal Malaysian Air Force came to their rescue and flew the family from Kuching to the Subang Air Base on 20 May.
The flight involved nine crew members including the pilot, pilot assistants, flight engineer and air quartermaster departing from RMAF Kuching Air Base at 1.49am and arriving safely at Subang Air Base at 3.34am. The baby was accompanied by her mother, a doctor and a nurse.
The RMAF posted several photos of the event on their Facebook page and said that they are always ready and committed to perform their social responsibility to the community so that the community’s welfare is taken care of.
“Let’s all pray that the baby has a safe surgery and recover again so that the baby can grow like other children and continue living every day,” they wrote.
Congratulations and well done to the Kuching Air Base, the Subang Air Base and all the flight crew members involved:
