The world is still at shock with the recent Easter Sunday bombing that took place at various churches and hotels in Sri Lanka.
Malaysians are invited to show support and solidarity at the #SalamSriLanka vigil and rally at Kuala Lumpur tonight at 8 pm.
Speaking to Malaysiakini, Mujahid Yusof of the Prime Minister’s Department said, “Malaysians need to show our solidarity and concern towards the victims and their families.”
“We will show it to the world that we reject all forms of violence. We are sending the message of peace and harmony.”
The event is scheduled to be held at the vicinity of St Mary’s Cathedral, Kuala Lumpur beginning at 8pm and should be arriving at Dataran Merdeka.
#SalamSriLanka rally is organised by Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM) and the Committee to Promote Inter-Religious Understanding and Harmony (JKMPKA), chose the church to show that it was a safe place to visit.
The #SalamSriLanka rally is held to show solidarity following a series of bomb attacks at several hotels and churches in Sri Lanka on the 21st of April 2019, which took 253 lives.
It is time that Malaysians condemn any form of terrorism and strive to make the world a better place.
