Members of the public have been warned; police are now donning civilian clothing to catch those who continue to flout SOPs in place during CMCO.

According to Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS Facebook page, police in Selangor are no longer donning their usual uniform; with blaring patrol cars, instead are putting on ‘normal’ clothes to ‘ambush’ members of the public who are still stubborn.

To show just how they work, several videos of how police officers approached those who flout SOPs at a restaurant in Bandar Puteri, Puchong, have made its way on social media.

The two officers can be seen going from table to table ‘catching’ public members who fail to follow SOPs such as wearing face masks and many more.

According to the Selangor Police Chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin, the Selangor police have placed a special unit at both District Police offices and the state level.

“The special team will organize ‘surprise’ spot checks at premises in the state, and those found flouting SOPs will be met with swift justice.”
