In a bid to aid those with lower income individuals, the Selangor Health, Welfare, Women and Family Affairs department has come up with the Peduli Sihat scheme, The Star reported.
The Peduli Sihat scheme allows individuals to receive subsidised treatment at clinics.

The application is specifically for families and married couples who earn lesser than RM3,000 monthly income.
They must be born in Selangor OR have lived in this state for more than 10 years to be eligible.
Dr Daroyah Alwi explained that this aid could help up to a million people.
“Once a family is registered, a Peduli Sihat card is issued to the main account holder with an annual RM500 allocation.”
“The dependents including the spouse and children below 21 will be entitled to treatments at registered clinics under the scheme.”
Best of all, there is no limit to the type of treatment or medication you receive for basic healthcare. Just as long as you go to their panel clinics, you can use the card.
“We have 1,001 clinics in Selangor and Klang Valley.”
“During a visit to any of the respective clinics, patients can enjoy a maximum of RM50 subsidy. If the total for consultation, treatment and medication exceed RM50, the person has to top-up from their own pocket.”
This scheme is particularly targeted to help the Bottom 40 (B40) group. They are households with the lowest 40% income – usually RM2,537 or lesser.
“Our aim is to improve the health of people who do not even have the means to get medication for flu, cough and cold because a minimum visit to the clinic could cost RM35 to RM45.”
“They are the group which suffers the most whenever food, clothing, rent, fuel and transportation goes up.”
Dr Daroyah hopes that this action can help improve the quality of life for the poor in this state.

As for individuals above the age of 21, they are eligible if they earn RM1,500 and lesser a month. But their maximum cap is RM200 a year.
“For these individuals a maximum of RM50 can be used at every visit to a private clinic.”
For now, Gombak will be the first district to implement the scheme.
To register, applicants can simply visit the nearest service centre. But before heading over, you need to prepare a few documents first!
1. Peduli Sihat registration form (you can get this at the centre).
2. Copy of IC of each family member.
3. Copy of latest payslip or pension.
4. Copy of latest EPF statement.
5. Copy of latest EA statement (if applicable).
