According to a report by The Straits Times, a woman from Singapore was allegedly raped recently. This case is currently on trial in court, and the victim’s boyfriend took the stand to testify against the rapist yesterday (6th April).
During the 4th day of the trial, the victim’s boyfriend stated that he tracked his girlfriend using a phone tracking app after she didn’t answer her phone despite being called multiple times.
He stated in court that throughout their entire three-year relationship, his girlfriend has never been hard to contact on her phone.
The incident started at Zouk, where his girlfriend was with her colleagues. He encouraged her to go to the club with her colleagues, as one of them was leaving Singapore to return to her home country.

He knew something was wrong when she stopped replying his texts on WhatsApp at around 3.15 in the morning.
He figured she was probably with her friends at first, but then became even more worried when she didn’t answer her phone, despite calling her seven times.
A few hours later at around 6 a.m., he decided to track her location using the Find My iPhone app. Thankfully, they shared a common password so he had no trouble logging into her account on his computer.

He found out the location of his girlfriend’s phone, which was at Hume Heights, and proceeded to make his way there. He connected the dots and figured out the location was her colleague, Ong Soon Heng’s home after recognising his car parked outside.
He then knocked on the door and a suspicious looking man answered. The victim’s boyfriend asked him if this was Ong’s house, and the man immediately became panicked, looked at a closed room door and proceeded to make a phone call but he didn’t get an answer.
After a short while, the man allowed him into the house and opened the closed room door, where he found his girlfriend and Ong lying under a blanket.
Ong immediately jumped out of the bed, saying he didn’t do anything.

The boyfriend noticed that her clothes were hung on a hanger and she was wearing a different set of clothes, which alarmed him even more.
He immediately rushed to his girlfriend’s side and helped her out of the bed. She appeared extremely weak and had to be dragged out of the house because she couldn’t walk on her own.
She was apparently very sleepy and continued sleeping when she was in the emergency department at a hospital, and even at the police station when they were lodging a report against Ong.
Based on calculations in a medical report, her blood alcohol level was between 210.50mg and 254.50mg per 100ml of blood when she was at Ong’s house. The legal alcohol level is 80mg per 100ml of blood.
As of now, the trial is still ongoing and Ong’s fate is yet to be decided.
