CCTV footage of a Singaporean man violently beating up a dog went viral last week. The man’s identity was recently revealed to be Terry Yee, a businessman and owner of Tearproof Sdn Bhd.

Yee’s company has several outlets here in Malaysia, including Mid Valley, The Curve, and One Utama Shopping Mall.

According to The Star,  vice president of U.S.-based firm, Osprey Packs, said Yee’s behaviour was “reprehensible” and that they “absolutely opposed any act of inhumane violence or neglect against animals.”

Currently, the firm is in the process of terminating their relationship with Yee’s company as they do not want to supply their goods to his stores anymore.

Animal rights activists nationwide have also condemned Terry Yee’s cruel behaviour toward the dog, saying that he needed to be arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

A Facebook page has been set up for the dog, Furby, which posts updates about the dog’s current state and rallying other Malaysians to condemn the man’s inhumane actions.

Yee violently beat up the dog at Taman Melody Bandar Kinrara in Puchong. He used his fists and a motorcycle helmet to beat the dog up after it charged towards him. He then proceeded to drag the dog by its collar and throwing it behind the guard house.

Furby sustained internal injuries since the beating and hasn’t been able to eat and swallow food properly.

Activists came out to protest against Yee’s cruel actions this past Sunday (9th April), calling for the man’s arrest.
