Just when we thought things were getting a little better, we have been greeted with some bad news about the release of some of the most-anticipated movies that have been delayed indefinitely.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Disney has announced that the theatrical release of Mulan has been pushed back from 21st August to a yet-announced date.
According to C Net, not only Mulan but the release of James Cameron’s Avatar sequels have all been pushed back a year each and will now premiere as follow:
- Avatar 2 (Dec. 16, 2022)
- Avatar 3 (Dec. 20, 2024)
- Avatar 4 (Dec. 18, 2026)
- Avatar 5 (Dec. 22, 2028)
This goes to the five people who still remember the Avatar movie.
Bad news for Star Wars fans, you won’t be seeing Rey until 2023 as a trio of Star Wars movies will be debuting on Christmas every other year starting in 2023:
- Untitled Star Wars (Dec. 22, 2023)
- Untitled Star Wars (Dec. 19, 2025)
- Untitled Star Wars (Dec. 17, 2027)
There’s still some good left in the world as there have no changes to the release date of Black Widow (6th November) and New Mutants (28th August).
The studio clarified that theatre closures and production shutdowns during the pandemic caused them to make these adjustments.
Along with them, these movies are also delayed:
- The Personal History of David Copperfield (Aug. 28, 2020)
- Death on the Nile (Oct. 23, 2020)
- The Empty Man (Dec. 4, 2020)
- The French Dispatch is unset
- Antlers (Feb. 19, 2021)
- The Last Duel (Oct. 15, 2021)
