The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2021 will begin in February next year (2022), and home-based learning and teaching (PdPR) will continue after schools reopen on 13 and 14 June 2021.

According to Senior Minister of Education Dr Radzi Jidin in a press conference today (6 June), the SPM oral and science practical exams will start in February 2022, while the written exams will take place in March 2022.

Other than that, students will also continue with home-based learning (PdPR) when schools reopen from 13 and 14 June (Group A and Group B) for 25 days until the next school holidays begin.

Group A schools include those in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, while schools in Group B are those in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. This applies to all schools, including international schools, private schools and expatriate schools.

He also added that the decision for home-based learning and teaching will depend on the Covid-19 situation. The decision to reopen schools lies with the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Education will provide one week’s notice before schools return to face-to-face classes.

Dr Radzi Jidin also mentioned that more than 70,000 teachers have received at least one dose of the vaccine to date. DidikTV will also continue to air for 15 hours every day.
