We desperately need this in Malaysia!

Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower has launched iWorkHealth, an online, self-administered psychosocial health assessment tool used by companies and their employees to identify common workplace stressors.

It was developed by MOM’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Institute, in partnership with the WSH Council, Institute of Mental Health, Changi General Hospital, and Health Promotion Board.

How does iWorkHealth work?

Employees can fill up a web-based survey and they will receive individual reports. The employers will then receive aggregated department and company reports. The question comprises covering stress-related factors at the workplace including job demands, job control, job recognition, organisation culture, and relationship with supervisors and co-workers.

The company’s report, on the other hand, will be anonymous and the report will consist of the key workplace stressors, the extent of their workplace stress, and the overall state of mental well-being of their employees.

As per the report, the company is responsible to roll out intervention programmes both in-house and external. They also need to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of each programme.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) also added a disclaimer that iWorkHealth should not be used for medical diagnostic or treatment purposes.

Should Malaysian workers also have this? Let us know in the comments section!
