This is nice!

Malaysia is known for many iconic – and delicious – local foods; from Nasi Lemak to Siew Yoke, these foods don’t just make for a scrumptious meal, but they seem to have made their way into fashion too. Much recently, a homegrown lifestyle brand, Bingka KL, and Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo have teamed up to make six illustrations of Malaysian’s most iconic dishes, wrote Malay Mail.

These stickers can be used on t-shirts (cotton) and tote bags; and they will be available for purchase starting from 13th September 2019, but they are only available exclusively in Uniqlo Fahrenheit 88. You have a wide variety of stickers to choose from and the options are mentioned below:

  • Kedah’s Nasi Lemak
  • Mee Bandung Muar
  • Negeri Sembilan’s Peranakan-influenced Masak Lomak
  • Keropok Lekor
  • Ais Potong
  • Borneo’s Kek Lapis

FYI, the Bingka KL is a brand that is popular for their Malaysian-inspired, hand-printed fabric as well as home decor products and accessories.

Not only that but you can also customise your own UTme! shirts with other typography and motifs which are very Malaysian-esque. You can do so by using the app to access the stickers, where you can customise the UTme! shirts.

This is the first collaboration of this sort and Uniqlo hopes that this won’t be the last of it. This is because they wish to work with more Malaysian artists and brands in the coming future. Nice!
