If you’re one who frequently uses the KTM, take note as a new operating schedule will be effective starting tomorrow, February 3.

KTM’s general manager Khair Johari Ishak said the change in its service schedule was made based on the feedback from consumers, as well as advice from the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), Free Malaysia Today reported.

Here are some of the changes made in the new schedule;

1. Kuang Station – Sungai Buloh Station

One track will be closed on these lines due to upgrading work on the Klang Valley Double Track (KVDT) project, which is scheduled for completion in November 2019.

2. Port Klang – Tanjung Malim – Port Klang route

Note that train frequency on this route will change starting tomorrow (February 3). Commuters can board a train every 30 minutes all day, compared to the current 15 to 30 minutes during peak hours and 60 minutes during normal hours.

3. Pulau Sebang – Batu Caves – Pulau Sebang route

The direct service between the two destinations will be terminated, with the train from Pulau Sebang to end at the KL Sentral Station and then return to Pulau Sebang every 20 minutes during peak hours and between 30 and 90 minutes during normal hours.

For Batu Caves, the train service will end at Sentul station and then return to Batu Caves every 20 minutes during peak hours and every 40 minutes during normal hours.

Feeder buses will be available for passengers to travel to and from the Pulau Sebang – Batu Caves route and Sentul station. This bus is expected to come every 20 to 30 minutes.

In addition to that, passengers will not be able to take direct train services to Pulau Serbang or Batu Caves from the Kuala Lumpur, Bank Negara and Putra stations as the service will be halted as well.

Tip: Commuters are advised to take the train from the Tanjung Malim route to the KL Sentral Station, or the Rapid KL train service (Sri Petaling route) as an alternative to their respective destinations.

“KTMB highly appreciates and calls for understanding and support from loyal commuters of the KTM Komuter service during the implementation of the KVDT project due to the inconvenience caused,” Khair said.

You can check the new schedule on the official KTMB website here. For any inquires,do contact the KTMB Call Centre at 03-2267 1200 or tweet them @ktm_berhad for further information.

So, take note, guys!
