As public, we are expected to follow the rules of certain places, especially when it comes to attire. For students, some universities also have a set of rules for students to follow, and yes, it includes how you dress up to lectures.
Just recently, the Facebook page shared the image of an unknown student at a local university who ranted about his confiscated earrings. The student was driving to his campus but was immediately stopped by the security at the entrance for violating dress code.

Based on the notice that the student was issued with, he was in violation of 2 rules on the day – not following clothing etiquette, and wearing earrings as a man.
The student was not happy about the notice, and he was even more pissed after his earrings were confiscated by the security guard at the entrance. Not only that but what happened next fueled his anger.
“Just like that, my RM100 was gone because I was fined. Confiscation? Is this primary school?”
In the Facebook post, the student also insisted that he never knew that men are not allowed to put on earrings within the campus. If you take a close look at the notice, male students are also expected to wear a necktie, and those who wear shorts and excessively tight clothes will also be issued with a fine.
We visited the official Facebook page of the local university and here’s the dress code that the students are expected to follow.

His post went viral and many students at the university are also not fond of the strict rules when it comes to the dress code. Some of them commented and said that the clothing etiquette has been taken too far.
“They’re treating us like 5 year olds. Boring.”
“I think it’s fine if you have piercings on your ear, but I’m not surprised they confiscated your earrings.”
“This is getting out of hand.”
“I guess I should be lucky for not getting caught.”
