However, a recent study conducted by Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont further confirmed the earlier study’s finding.

According to the latest study published in the journal PLoS ONE, an adequate amount of spices consumption can most definitely reduce the risk of natural death by an astonishing 13 percent!

In the study above, approximately 16000 Americans were followed for a span of 23 years. Of the men who were participating in the study, 34 percent of the participant passed away during a span of 19 years period. However when the data were limited to just those who consumed chili peppers, the figure dropped to just 22 percent!

The researchers after a long and time consuming study concluded that chili peppers posses nutrients that can prolong human life. Dr Benjamin Litternberg, the study’s co-author, claimed that capsaicin, an active component of chilies, could potentially shortens inflammation and ailments.

Capsaicin is also used to treat arthritis and is regarded as an highly effective painkiller for muscle and backache among other things. It also play a crucial role in cellular and molecular mechanisms which prevent obesity and modulate coronary blood flow.

The study resonated with a study conducted among 500,000 Chinese people, which concluded that people who ate spicy dishes three times a week had 14 per cent lower risk of mortality. The study highly recommend consumption on a weekly basis to enhance a healthy lifestyle.
