“Teachers have to be more creative when teaching online,” says Dep Education Minister
Now that the government has implemented online learning for a majority of the students, we hear many stories of how there are a lot of technical issues among other things.
The Deputy Minister of Education II has said that teachers should take the initiative to be more creative with their teaching so that students will not be left behind.
Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said that this is needed because there are students from the suburbs who face difficulties in getting internet connectivity to do online learning, reported Bernama.
The deputy minister has also said that the Ministry of Education is aware of the multiple problems that were raised ever since online learning was implemented. However, he mentioned that they are always on the lookout for solutions.
“Ever since the first MCO, there were multiple actions taken by the ministry, schools, Teacher Parents Associations and the society to improve online learning especially in lacking places, so the way a teacher helps a student is important.”
He added: “Actually, there are many examples as to how parents and teachers can cooperate to resolve this matter… there are many ways of learning either off or online.”
In response to that, Syed Saddiq took to Twitter and said,
“Teachers, students and parents have already put in a lot of effort for the sake of education. But what did the Education Minister and his Deputy Ministers do? Don’t just point fingers.”
Netizens were enraged as well to the point that they started a hashtag on Twitter “#MahYouTeachLa“.
