As the number of Covid-19 cases in Sabah continues to rise rapidly, the medical team in the state is going to need all the help they can get. Thankfully, medical officers from Peninsular Malaysia have willingly offered their services to help ease the situation in Sabah.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah shared on his Facebook page several photos of the team before they left for Sabah.

“The cheerful faces of the Medical Officers of the Terengganu State Health Department, Kelantan State Health Department, Pahang State Health Department and Kuala Lumpur Hospital with the courage to provide their services in Tawau,” he wrote.

These medical officers are from:

  • JKN Terengganu – Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital, Kemaman Hospital, Besut Hospital, Setiu Hospital & Dungun Hospital
  • JKN Kelantan – Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital, Tanah Merah Hospital, Tengku Anis Hospital, Jeli Hospital & Gua Musang Hospital
  • JKN Pahang – Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital, Kuala Lipis Hospital, Jerantut Hospital & Muadzam Shah Hospital

“All of these front-line workers have been preparing to carry out their duties in the field in a national effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Dr Noor Hisham writes.

He adds that the mobilisation of health workers to Sabah will be implemented in stages and will involve other posts like Physicians, Assistant Medical Officers, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Microbiological Science Officers and others.

Dr Hisham then extends his gratitude to the frontliners who have generously offered their help to the Sabah state.

“On behalf of the people of Malaysia, thank you to the heroes of this country!”

Thank you, dear frontliners, for your sacrifice and effort in helping to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Malaysia. We hope you will stay safe and healthy while you carry out your duties!
