While the country grieves the tragic deaths of the 15 UPSI students who lost their lives in an accident, a Malaysian teacher viewed their demise differently.

He believes the students died in disgrace because they had yet to settle their PTPTN loans

In his controversial Facebook post, he noted that the deceased students won’t be granted blessings to enter heaven due to their debts.

On top of that, the teacher also remarked that those who die while still being in debt belong in hell. He also made an inappropriate acronym for the name UPSI and said the students there deserve nothing but death.

Not long after his posts circulated on social media, the teacher posted a short apology, saying,

“I would like to apologise for the incident that befell the UPSI students. May God bless them.”

His Facebook page has been inaccessible to the public since then, but the screenshots of his posts are currently going viral on the Internet.

Another screenshot of a conversation with the management of the school revealed that the teacher is allegedly suffering from a mental illness.

Perak Exco expects a full report on the matter

Perak Education, Higher Education, Youth, and Sports Exco, Khairudin Abu Hanipah, said investigations show that the teacher is working at one of the secondary schools in the state. District Education Office (PPD) immediately contacted the school’s principal, who then advised the teacher to remove his post.

Regardless, Khairudin is expecting a complete report from PPD regarding the matter in accordance with the circular issued by the Ministry of Education, reported Sinar Harian.

In another update, the government has fully waived the PTPTN loans of the deceased students, with RM10,000 also provided to the family of the victims as financial aid.
