“Bullying doesn’t just happen in school. It happens in Parliament too.”
That was what the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tumpat, Kelantan had to say recently in Parliament about the fate of members of the opposition party, particularly those from Kelantan.
So, how are the members of the Opposition bullied in parliament?
According to Tumpat MP YB Dato’ Hajjah Mumtaz binti Md Nawi, she told Parliament that none of the Opposition members were allocated any funds from the government to help the needy, especially the flood victims in Kelantan.
“We don’t even know how to tell the people who came to us for help. We really cannot afford to help them at this point. This is how people start to claim the opposition leaders are not helping anyone. “
“We are being mass bullied!”
Not long after, Mumtaz then mentioned that Kelantan has always been the victim of mass bullying online, and Malaysian social media users have a BIG role to play in cyberbullying.
“I came across a social media content where the person asked what has the Kelantanese done to deserve this.”
At the time of writing (December 11), the flood condition in Kelantan has vastly improved, with only 41 flood victims left. In Terengganu, however, the number of flood victims is still high, with nearly 4,800 victims still struggling with the disaster, based on the data from the official website of the Malaysian Department of Social Welfare.
