Miss visiting a pasar pagi and the friendly vendors?
The Pasar Pagi Puchong Jaya reopened on 16 June 2020 after 3 months of Movement Control Order (MCO) and subsequent Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), and vendors are finally allowed to open stalls, but with strict SOPs to follow.
In a video that was circulated around on Whatsapp, people were queuing up to get the temperatures checked before entering the morning market.
As part of the SOP for stalls to operate, each stall is required to be 16 feet (2 stalls) apart, as shown in the video. Customers are also required to follow the SOPs given by the government, including wearing masks and sanitising their hands prior to entering the market.
However, it seemed that the normal hustle and bustle of the morning market was not present during the first day of the reopening, as there were not many people around.
DAP Assemblyman for Kinrara, Selangor, Ng Sze Han visited the pasar yesterday morning to inspect if protocols were being followed.
According to him, although there were not many people in the pasar, those who were there did obey the new rules to do their best on preventing further spread of COVID-19.
After several months of not being able to make an income, vendors are now happy to be back on track despite the slow business.
Seems like, in the near future the vendors and customers will have to get used to the new normal. In the meantime, be sure to be safe and follow SOPs when visiting any of your favourite pasar.
