This Kuantan School Is A Finalist For The World’s Best School Award & May End Up Winning RM228k!

Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kempadang, a primary school in Kuantan, Pahang is in line to win a cash prize of USD50,000 or approximately RM228,926 after being shortlisted as a finalist for the World’s Best School Award. The school was listed in the innovation category, alongside 2 other schools worldwide, which is in itself a tremendous achievement!

As reported by New Straits Times, SK Kempadang is nominated for the award for its fully digital solution system to track student progress. Known as SNARTZOOM, the system tracks student learning progress using data input from Google Sheets and Google Chrome as all teachers in Malaysia have a dedicated Google account linked to the Ministry of Education (MOE).

Trustee and Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah Datuk Shahira Ahmed Bazari said that SK Kempadang will be an inspiration to educators around the world. In a statement, she further asserted,

SK Kempadang and the other top three finalists for each award category are now at the public voting stage to determine the winners. Members of the public are vien until 2 October 2022 to vote for the winner at the official website here. The winner will be announced this 19 October.
