How much are you willing to pay for a hijab?
Just yesterday (13 August), we stumbled across Malaysia’s most expensive hijab and it’s so sparkly! The RM100,000 hijab is dubbed as “the World’s Most Expensive Bawal” and it is recognised by Malaysia’s Book of Records.
The owner of the bawal scarf is Haliza Masyuri, the founder of Bawal Exclusive, reported Awani. She said that the 1.14-metre voile bawal is embellished with 7,512 pieces of Swarovski crystals of different shapes, sizes and colours.
To complete this elaborate scarf, 12 Swarovski Austria workers spent a total of 320 hours (13 days). This is the final *blinding* product.
Bawal Exclusive offers many other bawals made from voile and embellished with Swarovski crystals. This RM100,000 bawal is said to be a gift from Swarovski.
“The headscarf is a gift of appreciation from the international crystal producer to mark the long-time cooperation (between Bawal Exclusive and Swarovski).”
The headscarf will not be for sale but it will be on display at the new Bawal Exclusive boutique which will be launched on 1 September.
The Swarovski Malaysia Sales Manager, Two Zi Wei has also said that the headscarf posed a challenge to the Austrian workers as they were unfamiliar with the concept of the hijab.
