The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is offering a 70% discount on all summonses, including those blacklisted in conjunction with the 64th National Day celebration, starting today, 18 August.

According to a Facebook post by JPJ, this offer is to reduce the summons which will help ease the burden of the people, following the economic crisis that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic.

JPJ said the discount offer will last until 16 September.

The deduction in the payment of the summons, however, does not involve cases that are still under court mention, including those with an arrest warrant or trial status.

“This deduction will be given to all summons notices issued for offences under Road Transport Numbers 1987 (Act 333), the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act (Act 334) and the Rules and Orders that follow these regulations, including cases still in the black list.

The reduction on the summons notice is based on the current compound rate available in the mySIKAP JPJ system. This offer is also given to all summonses that are still active and the compound period is still in effect provided payment is made within the specified period until 16 September,” JPJ said in a statement.

“Payment of the summons notice can be made at all state JPJ offices, branches and the Urban Transformation Center (UTC), kiosks or online through the JPJ mySIKAP portal (https://public.jpj.gov.my/).”

However, JPJ informed the public to take note that traffic offenders who are blacklisted, are required to re-appear at the JPJ office (branch or state), for the purpose of the re-documentation process, before any payment can be made.

If you have any pending summonses to clear, now’s the time!
