Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has addressed allegations online that have accused him of drinking alcohol and eating pork in his office, saying that they’re all unfounded and were made up to stir up racial strife.
In a Facebook post, Tiong slammed the viral WhatsApp message, saying that these kinds of unfounded remarks must be severely condemned.
Furthermore, the Minister challenged those spreading the allegations to come forward and meet him in person and didn’t rule out the possibility of taking legal action against the perpetrator.
He asserted, “These kinds of unfounded remarks must be severely condemned. My lifelong respect for all ethnic groups notwithstanding, I also remind the other party that those who do not hesitate to stir up racial strife for the personal purpose of damaging my reputation are the ones who truly disrespect all ethnic groups.”

Tiong further reminded everyone not to play with fire and create racial conflicts and hatred for their self-gain. He also hoped that the statement would set the record straight and stop the spread of such rumours, as well as urge all quarters to stop this unhealthy trend of spreading malicious rumours.
