The local Fire and Rescue Department were soon alerted of the poor turtle’s situation, and rushed to the scene as soon as possible with five men.

Chief operations officer of Port Dickson’s Fire and Rescue Department, Razif Mohamad Haris stated,

“Upon arrival, we found the turtle firmly trapped. The strong water current from the Straits of Malacca had also crippled its movement.”

The poor creature was also missing its front right flipper, which probably hindered its swimming abilities and got it trapped in the barrier.

The firemen waded into the water and battled the strong current and spent about 15 minutes rescuing the turtle.

Fortunately, the firemen were successful in their efforts and managed to save the turtle from its trap without injuring it!

Aww!

Good job to the firemen who helped rescue this animal! We’re sure it was no easy feat considering how heavy the turtle was. Glad the turtle is safe!
