It’s the rainy season in most parts of Asia, so most of us are bracing ourselves for inevitable floods.
However, one of the areas worst hit by floods is South Asia no thanks to their annual monsoon season. Bangladesh in particular has been worst hit by these floods, which has reportedly affected nearly 5 million people, and has killed 56.
Two 15-year-old boys unfortunately, were among the perished as they died while taking selfies in front of a flooded road on Wednesday (16th August). While taking the photos, they were suddenly swept away by the strong current and sadly did not survive, according to the Malay Mail.

The headmaster of their school said, “With the school shut down due to floods, and the road underwater, they thought it was a good idea to take selfies on the flooded road.”
“Unfortunately huge currents washed both of them into a roadside flood-plain. Several villagers tried to save them, but one of them was also washed away by floodwaters.”
The monsoon flood has reportedly affected India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. According to BBC News, more than 250 people across the three nations have tragically died due to the strong currents, and millions of people are left stranded.
Sabah was also recently affected by severe floods this week, causing schools to be closed because of how flooded the roads were.
