The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) just arrested Deputy Head of UMNO Division Perak regarding allegations of misappropriation of around RM500,000 worth of funds by an OKU association.
The arrested man was the president of the association and is also a council member at a local authority (PBT) in Perak.
Astro Awani reported that Perak MACC director, Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohamad, confirmed that the 61-year-old politician was arrested last week, 3 September. He added that MACC received information that the politician transferred funds from the association into his personal funds.
The case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 for the misuse of power and receiving bribe.
