As we slowly return to our daily routines after the Covid-19 virus, it can sometimes be hard to predict and control human interactions around you.
Thankfully for the students of this Malaysian university, they won’t have to worry so much about people trying to shake their hands during a viral pandemic.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) took to their Twitter page to showcase their new social acceptance level wristbands!
As we are moving forward & the University resuming, interactions will increase. Some might not be comfy to talk about their social acceptance level in public spaces especially at workplace, classes and labs. This idea can be a useful visual indicator for better interaction. pic.twitter.com/qLOlTWxpHI

The wristbands come in three bright colours (so you won’t miss them!) that represent different levels of social interactions.
Red – Strict social distancing believer
Yellow – Cool with talking but not touching
Green – Good for fist bumps (but you’ll have to wash your hands after!)
This way, if you’re someone who doesn’t mind talking but don’t want to be touched, you can avoid that awkward conversation about why you’d prefer others to keep their hands to themselves.
And if you’re someone who needs physical interaction, you’ll know to avoid doing that upon seeing a red or yellow wristband.
What an amazing idea! We can’t wait to see this trend take over other schools, universities, and even offices.
