With a sudden surge of 28 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Malaysia yesterday (6 March 2020), the Ministry of Health had announced that there are ten new cases confirmed as of noon today (7 March).
According to health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, all ten cases tested positive today were related to Case 33. As reported by the Ministry of Health on their official Twitter account (@KKMPutrajaya), Case 33 is a 58-year-old Malaysian male who had attended a meeting in Kuching with Case 26. This man was tested Covid-19 positive on 2 March and he is being treated at Sungai Buloh Hospital currently.
Being in close contact with Case 26, Case 33 contracted the coronavirus from him. Here’s the trace map regarding Malaysia’s 26th case that was updated yesterday:
In the latest statement released by the Ministry of Health, they are still conducting investigations and close contact detection activities are ongoing to identify the cause of the infection and thus prevent the spread of the infection.
Other than reporting about the latest cases in Malaysia, the ministry had also provided health advice to stay safe during the outbreak of Covid-19.
