Now that MCO 2.0 has come into effect, most of the students in primary and secondary schools are required to stay home and study online. However, a survey was conducted by the Ministry of Education during the first MCO with a participant pool of 670,000 parents with a total of 900,000 pupils.
They had found that 36.9% of students do not have any electronic devices that can allow them to attend classes online. The study also showed that only six per cent of the students have personal computers, 5.67 per cent have tablets, nine per cent have laptops while 46 per cent have smartphones, reported Awani.
Taking that into account, popular philanthropist and preacher Ebit Lew has bought a hundred tablets just to give away to underprivileged children. In his Facebook post which has gained 19,000 shares in the span of one night, he asked for those who really need help to give him a call at +60175870294.
Upon a closer look, the preacher has bought Samsung Tab A which is retailing for RM599 each. We certainly hope that the tablets will be able to help the children get the education they deserve.
Other than that, most netizens commended Ustaz Ebit Lew for helping just about anyone and everyone. Others have said that he works harder for the welfare of the people if compared to the government.
