UTAR Foundation Student, Joshua Yii, Wins Prestigious Harvard Prize Book 2020

A UTAR student has just won the prestigious Harvard Prize Book 2020!

Foundation in Science student, Joshua Yii Zhu Hee, from the UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) Sungai Long was announced as the Harvard Prize Book 2020 winner during the virtual Harvard Prize Book 2020 Prize Giving Ceremony held via Microsoft Teams on 10 December 2020.

Based on a statement by UTAR, Joshua received the award based on his excellent academic performance, involvement in soft-skill programmes and his presentation at the final interview with the Harvard Club of Malaysia (HCM) panel. He was given a certificate endorsed by HCM and also cash prizes worth RM250 from HCM and RM250 from UTAR.

UTAR CFS also produced two other finalists, Phuah Zi Song and You Xin Lei who both received certificates endorsed by HCM.

“On behalf of UTAR, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to Yii. We are indeed proud of your achievements and you have indeed created history for UTAR by being the first-ever Foundation student to have won this prestigious award. Keep up the good work,” shared UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat.

The Harvard Prize Book has been awarded by the alumni of Harvard University to top-performing students in selected schools around the world since 1910. Their programme was launched in partnership with selected schools and recognised top-performing Malaysian students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and character, combined with achievements in other fields.
