A video went viral showing a man claiming that a politician flashed a gun at party members who were campaigning for votes, as reported by Sinar Harian.
Police will be calling in Hulu Kinta ADUN Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad to give a statement over claims that he threatened someone by showing what looked like a pistol.

The politician flashed a gun at a man
Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said they received a report from a man at 12.28pm on April 13 (Sunday) about the incident.
The man, said to be the Tambun Deputy Chief candidate, claimed there was a commotion during a Hari Raya open house event at the Taman Indah Community Hall.
He also claimed they have evidence since many people witnessed the incident.
Noor Hisam said police have started investigating and have already called several witnesses who were at the scene.
“When the complainant got there, he said a politician flashed something that looked like a pistol at him and told him to leave. He wasn’t happy about it and called the police,” he said.

So far, 8 people have given their statements, and police are still looking for more witnesses to help with the investigation.
Earlier, Muhamad Arafat denied the accusation in a media statement, calling it a slanderous political attack.
It’s understood that the incident happened on the same day as the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Tambun division election.
Further investigation is being carried out under Section 506 of the Penal Code to determine the motive behind the incident.
