The Movement Control Order begins today and you can already see a wave of silence has fallen over the country. Unless you happen to be working in the essential services, everyone is required to stay in their houses. Despite multiple warnings to stay in their houses, some people (irresponsible people?) ignore these orders and go about their daily lives treating the movement control as a vacation. The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs has implemented a takeaway only policy as mass gatherings above 50 people are banned. Yet, some customers AND owners deliberately take no notice of this rule and suffered the consequences.

A restaurant owner and the customers who were eating at his stall were arrested today at a restaurant in Teluk Intan.

Police start taking action. They handcuffed both boss n customers who dine in?

The man who took the video said that the police are here to warn customers who dine in and vendors who allow this to happen. The police added that today is a warning day thus no fines would be given, and they were just asked to keep all the tables and chairs inside. Some elderly people can be seen getting arrested and this was purely because they refused to abide by the police’s orders.

Another video also showed the police warning customers who were having their meal inside the restaurant inside of tapau-ing it.

It’s actually really simple, the Movement Control Order is NOT A VACATION for you to loiter around and have meals in restaurants. Please stay at home for your own safety and the safety of others. This is not the time to be selfish and ignorant.
