The freak storm that happened today in Melaka caused some extensive damage to properties and businesses. Not only that, but a school in Malim also saw extreme flooding and a roof falling into the structures.

In a latest update by Bernama, six students from SJKC Malim suffered light injuries after roof parts fell on them approximately at 10.17am today morning.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon and Melaka Chief Minister, Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali also visited the area to oversee the damage.

Rescue teams including the fire department and PDRM were gathered around the area to keep the children safe.

As of now, the authorities are still trying to identify the exact number of casualties and affected areas. The situation around the school is now calm and under control, after parents came to pick up their children.

We hope the injured children have a speedy recovery and their schools will be rebuilt soon to ensure the schooling session will return to normal!
