It seems like crazy cyclists are replacing Myvis as the King of the Road. With daily updates on antics about these daredevils on two wheels, some cyclists have managed to turn a very healthy activity into a nuisance for other road users. In some cases, they even put themselves in danger.
In a short video shared by Twitter user @Aweeff, a cyclist is seen to ride his bicycle too close to the back of a moving lorry. Before we highlight the danger of this, let’s explore the reason behind such a crazy act. Well, according to the We Love Cycling website, it is vital for cyclists to reduce aerodynamic drag when they are out riding. By reducing aerodynamic drag, a cyclist not only can go faster, he or she can also conserve energy.
In the video, the lorry helps to block air particles from hitting the cyclist, minimising the aerodynamic drag and directly influencing the performance for the cyclist. Yes, it’s all in the science of it. This should be done in a proper place and manner. Not by riding at the back of a moving lorry.

Dek kerana tindakan berani mati seorang cyclist habis semua cyclist dipukul sama rata.

It does not take a genius in aerodynamics to see the danger of how the cyclist in the video minimises his aerodynamics. One misstep could prove lethal. Apart from that, the cyclist can also be fined up to RM1,000 and jail time, not more than three months. Hopefully, those who are passionate about cycling would consider the danger of attempting such an act to prevent any future unwanted accidents.
