A wild boar severely dented a driver’s car while running across a road in Singapore on 13th October at 1.45pm.
According to Stomp, Michelle shared that her father, the driver, was at Upper Timah Road on the way to the city when his dashcam recorded a wildboar charging across the road.
The wild boar then rammed into the SUV and collapsed upon impact. However, it immediately sprung back on its feet and ran into a forested area.
“The boar collapsed upon impact but two seconds later, returned to its feet and dashed back towards the forested area from where it came, likely Bukit Batok Nature Reserve,” Michelle said.
The dent on the front bumper of the car was quite severe and cost the family $1,241 (about RM3,811) to repair it.
“We hope Stomp can help to raise awareness of such dangers to road users and what to do in such an encounter,” she said.
“If the charging boar had instead collided with a pedestrian or cyclist with such impact, the consequences would have been dire.
“We also wonder if the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) is going to wait until someone dies from a wild boar attack before something is done to manage these wild animals.”
Considering that there was a forest reserve nearby and a wild boar on the loose, should there be protection on the animals or on pedestrians? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
