We Malaysians undoubtedly LOVE our noodles! From the char siew-laden wan tan mee to the uniquely tangy assam laksa, we’re truly blessed to have so many nood options to savour.

If you happen to be on the lookout for your next best ramen spot, we highly recommend checking out this all-new ramen bar in USJ Taipan, combining the best of both style and substance for a gastronomical ramen feast!

1. Iconic elevator entrance at Ramen Mob

Just like its sibling branch in Taman Desa, the new Ramen Mob outlet in USJ Taipan carries the Japanese elevator motif too.

However, what’s great about this new branch is that it boasts a much more spacious dining area.

2. Slurping noods & signature dishes. What to eat there:

Ramen Mob serves both soup and dry ramen. Our personal favourite had to be their mazesoba (dry ramen), a popular brothless ramen type that’s mixed thoroughly in pork lard oil to give you sinfully rich flavours.

Their noodles are also thicker than the soup ramen, giving the awesome QQ (chewy) bite.

If you like dry ramen, got for their best-selling Oyabun Abura Mazesoba.

Its sweet chashu-like yakibuta (braised pork belly) blends oh so well with the umami-heavy lard-coated noodles, which were perfectly cooked to chewy tenderness. Top it off with an onsen egg, spring onions, seaweed and bonito flakes, and you get a smorgasbord of flavours in one bowl!

You can also try the Classic Mazesoba and Mala Abura Mazesoba.

  • Classic Mazesoba: It has marinated minced pork with an abundance of chives and garlic paste, giving it a herby garlicky profile.
  • Mala Abura Mazesoba: Has Szechuan chilli oil-coated ramen would definitely excite mala and chilli pan mee lovers.

As for their soup ramen, we’ve already sung praise for their signature Shiro Yakibuta Ramen, so it’s time we shine the spotlight on their other delicious offerings:

  • Kuro Gyoza Ramen
A heavenly dish for garlic lovers, this ramen introduces black garlic-infused oil into Ramen Mob’s household shiro soup to create a soul-warming garlicky yet creamy pork broth, with meaty home-made gyozas to round up your taste buds.
  • Aka Chashu Ramen
Spicy yet creamy, Ramen Mob’s shiro soup is given the spicy treatment with the inclusion of spicy chilli miso oil that’s well-complemented by its fatty chashu.

This joint’s ramen go for around RM28.90 to RM31.90 per bowl.

It’s considered affordable given the generous noodle portion, toppings, as well as their thick broth which is made from boiling pork bones for 16 hours!

If you’re more of a rice person, don’t fret!

RamenMobTaipan Buta Bara Donburi talent

Despite its namesake, Ramen Mob also serves other assortments of dishes that are equally delightful, such as their donburis and appetisers.

  • Nanban Karaage Donburi
Boneless chicken thigh deep fried with garlic and topped with Japanese tartare, balanced out with a bed of Japanese rice, salad and onsen egg.
  • Buta Bara Donburi
Stir-fried cubed pork with sweet Japanese yakiniku sauce, cushioned with hot Japanese rice and creamy onsen egg.

Home-made Japanese gyoza pan-fried to crispy perfection, with chilli oil and vinegar to amp up the taste.
  • Steamed Mala Gyoza
Steaming hot gyoza coated with Szechuan chilli oil and garnished with spring onions – numbingly spicy!
  • Aburi Mentai Tamago
Tender Japanese omelette topped with torched mentai mayosimple yet super tasty!

3. Modern interior with good vibes

What’s cool about this place is, instead of the typical Japanese interior design, Ramen Mob goes for the modern-look – with stainless steel finishes with silver and black furniture, along with warm yellow lighting.

Additionally, their Subang branch boasts a hard-to-miss hanging metal flying pig statue that’s the perfect backdrop for the Gram!
