Just yesterday (25th September), it was revealed that the former prime minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, was summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for questioning at its headquarters on Wednesday (26th September). Reports have speculated that this questioning could lead to an arrest and subsequent charges.

Earlier this morning at around 10am, Rosmah was spotted arriving at MACC’s headquarters by local and international media.

Now, approximately eight hours later, there appears to be no sign of her leaving the premises just yet as she is still being questioned by the anti-graft agency.

Meanwhile, Malaysiakini reported that it is still uncertain as to whether the former first lady will be arrested at the end of the day. MACC’s Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki has however denied that she would be detained.

Rosmah was previously summoned by MACC in June, where she was questioned for three hours to help with investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Just last week, former prime minister Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak was once again detained by MACC and was later questioned by the anti-graft agency and police officers before being slapped with 25 charges revolving around the RM2.6 billion allegedly transferred into his personal account.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates.
