The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) recently voiced out against the death sentence for the murderers of Zulfarhan, saying it takes away any chances of rehabilitation.

Most Malaysians are NOT happy with what SUHAKAM had to say, including the father of the deceased cadet himself.

“Why now, what’s your motive?”

Like many other Malaysians, Zulfarhan’s father, Zulkarnain, was baffled by SUHAKAM’s idea against the death penalty, especially the “timing” they chose to voice out.

Over the years, many criminals in Malaysia have been sentenced to the death penalty, but to Zulkarnain, SUHAKAM’s decision to voice out against the death penalty after the death of his son is sudden.

“Why now, what’s their motive? When my son passed away 7 years ago, why didn’t anyone come forward and make a statement?”

In a report by Majoriti, Zulkarnain also said he did not deny the possibility that SUHAKAM has something up their sleeves.

“My son was brutally tortured to death that time. Where is the justice for him? SUKAHAM definitely has its agendas. I hope no one is taking advantage of my son’s death.”

All 6 killers, who were all former cadets from UPNM, have been sentenced to death for the brutal murder of Zulfarhan that took place 7 years ago. SUHAKAM, in a statement, urged the government to reconsider the death penalty.

Rest in peace, Zulfarhan.
