Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reiterated that the price of RON95 will be decreased from RM2.05 per litre to RM1.99 per litre by the end of this month, thus fulfilling the MADANI Government’s promise to alleviate the rakyat’s burden.

The Prime Minister had previously announced on 23 July the RON95 price drop for Malaysians, alongside several other ‘good news’ for the rakyat, including an additional public holiday on 15 September 2025 and the one-off RM100 aid for all Malaysians aged 18 and above.

The Prime Minister assures that RON95 prices will be RM1.99 per litre for Malaysians by the end of September

Speaking at the Johor-level Rapat Umum 27 Tahun Reformasi programme in Johor Bahru, Johor, today, Anwar was quoted by BERNAMA as saying that several people were mad at him because it’s already September but the RON95 has yet to drop.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister assured that the fuel price will definitely drop by the end of the month for Malaysians and asked the people to wait just a while longer, though no specific date was mentioned.

“Tell me, which other country gives its people a price as low as this? We promise, we deliver,” said Anwar.

He added that RON95 is currently at RM2.05 per litre, which is lower than the market price without subsidy, which is up to RM2.60 per litre.

Moreover, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, lauded the MADANI Government’s efforts to improve the people’s well-being through several initiatives.

“In these three years, civil servants’ salaries have increased — this year alone by RM10 billion, and next year by RM18 billion. The Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) has been increased to RM15 billion. For RON95 fuel subsidies, the people will soon pay only RM1.99 per litre, whereas non-citizens pay market prices of RM2.50 or RM2.60.” said the Prime Minister, as shared by another BERNAMA report covering the same event.

He also called out the Opposition during the event, asserting,

“We are giving more to the poor, workers’ wages have gone up. Ministers’ salaries have been cut by 20%. During your (opposition’s) time in government, the minimum wage was RM1,200. Now, in less than 3 years, we have raised it to RM1,700,”
