Now that we’re allowed to spend some time outside with the easing of restrictions in the country, you’re probably wondering where to go and what to do. Well, why not check out Malaysia’s first drive-in cinema?
That’s right, you can now watch the latest movies (and some old school classics) right from the comfort of your own car. For three months only, NESCAFE M-Junction will be screening both international and local movies on a huge, four by nine meter screen in the heart of Kuala Lumpur! But fret not, it all adheres to the new normal we’ve been practising.
Upon driving into the Malaysia Tourism Center (MATIC), you’ll be greeted by friendly M-Junction staff who will take your temperature and register you in before guiding you to your parking spot.
Once you’re parked, they’ll help you set up a Bluetooth speaker in your vehicle (for vehicles with no Bluetooth connection) so that you don’t have to strain to hear the audio from the movie.
M-Junction also strongly encourages you to turn your car off for the screening in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. But don’t worry about it getting stuffy because you’ll also be provided with portable fans!
If you’re watching a movie at M-Junction, it’ll probably be dark out, which means it’s dinner time! But not to worry as delicious food and snacks are provided in the package!
You will be provided with a QR code that leads you to their food menu where you can order your meals from. Servers will then deliver your food and drinks directly to your car to minimise contact and reduce queues.
Now that you’re set, all that there’s left to do is enjoy the movie, but of course, how could you when you’re surrounded by this view!
M-Junction boasts a wide range and mixture of popular recent releases and classic movies for your viewing pleasure including Titanic, The Greatest Showman and more. So, get ready to cry, laugh and sit at the edge of your seats with your partner in crime.
Not only is this such a unique and fun experience, but the best parts of this event is that they aim to help various issues and industries in a joint effort between local event specialists TwoSpicy Entertainment Live and MD Events Asia.
Not only are they helping save jobs and generate economy after the entertainment and tourism industry were badly hit by the coronavirus pandemic, but they’re also looking out for the planet through reducing carbon emission at the event.

M-Junction operates everyday, with two screening times per day:
- Session one @ 6:00pm
- Session two @ 9:00pm
Tickets are priced at:
- Standard package – RM99 per car (maximum 2 pax)
- VIP package – RM159 per car (maximum 2 pax)
Food, snacks, drinks plus loaned portable fans and Bluetooth speakers are included in the package!
All packages include two meals.

The space can fit up to 50 cars at one go while ensuring that all moviegoers adhere to social distancing rules, and yes, even in your cars. This means that only two people are allowed in all vehicles during screenings to ensure that everybody gets the ultimate viewing experience while minimising the potential risk of infections.
Do note that sedan cars will be placed in the front rows while larger cars like MPVs and SUVs will be placed in the back rows.
