It’s Day 37 of the Movement Control Order and something most people seem to be doing is online shopping. I mean, as long as you’re shopping within your means, there’s no harm in it, right? If you’ve felt like your packages are taking quite some time to arrive, fear not, you aren’t alone!
This increase is felt by Pos Laju who deliver most of our packages. Pick Up & Delivery Pos Malaysia Right Manager, Mohd Azilah A Rahim told Harian Metro that they are facing a 35 per cent increase of order rate ever since MCO began.
“We receive up to 730,000 packages a day and this number exceeds the normal capacity of 350,000 packages per day.
However, he reassured that Pos Malaysia is equipped to handle such situations and they’ve even added the number of processing facilities to ensure all orders will be delivered to the respective customers. “Due to the increased number of orders and reduced business hours during MCO, the delivery of the package will be slightly delayed,” he said.
To cope with this, Pos Laju delivery riders are even working from Sundays and Pos Laju staffs work from 8.30am to 7pm daily. He reminded customers to make sure their delivery address is the latest home address as no packages can be delivered to office buildings and premises during MCO.
Azilah also said that those who wished to update their addresses can do so at the AskPos website. Those who wish to pay their bills can do so at POS Online without going to the post office.
So, to all of us made our purchases guess we have to just wait a while. A big thanks to our postal delivery workers who are working overtime delivering our purchases!
